The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shared an updated list of foreign players with PSL franchises ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 draft, now rescheduled for January 13 in Lahore. The draft, initially set for January 11, was postponed due to weather forecasts predicting rain, allowing additional time for production and broadcaster preparations.
The updated player list includes Australian cricket stars David Warner, Matthew Short, Riley Meredith, and Steve Smith, although Smith has declined the invitation due to prior commitments. Similarly, New Zealand’s Kane Williamson has also turned down the offer, but PCB sources indicate efforts are ongoing to convince him to join. Other prominent names in the platinum category include Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman, England’s Adil Rashid, Chris Woakes, and Jonny Bairstow, along with New Zealand’s Finn Allen and Mark Chapman.

Despite the presence of top-tier talent, participation from some players remains uncertain. Adil Rashid’s confirmation is still pending, and PCB is working to resolve the NOC issues with several English players, including Chris Woakes and Jonny Bairstow. Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan, due to his bowling ban, will only participate as a batter.
In terms of the draft event, a rehearsal is scheduled for January 12, ensuring that all logistics and arrangements are in place. The event, originally planned for Gwadar, will now be held at Bara Dari in Lahore, with an official announcement on the revised schedule expected soon.
Multan Sultans’ owner, Ali Jahangir Tareen, recently expressed dissatisfaction over the initial selection of Gwadar as the venue, criticizing the PSL management for not consulting franchise owners and labeling the decision as rushed.
Meanwhile, the draft pick order for the platinum category has already been finalized. Two-time champions Lahore Qalandars will have the first pick, followed by Karachi Kings. The Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and reigning champions Islamabad United will complete the order.
