Pakistan’s Olympic javelin champion Arshad Nadeem fails to secure a medal at the World Athletics Ultimate Championships. The event is being held in Budapest.

Eight athletes competed in the javelin throw final. Arshad could not produce a strong enough performance to stay in medal contention.

The Pakistani athlete started the competition with a throw of 74.42 metres. He improved his distance during his second attempt.

His second throw reached 79.66 metres. Arshad then produced his best effort of the competition on his third attempt.

The third throw measured 81.49 metres. However, the distance was not enough to secure a place in the next round.

As a result, Arshad did not receive a fourth attempt. His early elimination ended his hopes of winning another major international medal.

Sri Lanka’s Rumesha Pathirage won the javelin throw title. He delivered the winning performance with his final attempt.

Pathirage produced an impressive throw of 91.09 metres. The effort came on his last throw and secured the championship.

Arshad entered the competition with a strong international reputation. He won Olympic gold in the javelin throw and remains one of Pakistan’s leading athletes.

However, his latest performance means he fails to add another major title to his record. His 81.49-metre throw was his best effort in the final.

The result also follows a difficult outing at the Commonwealth Games. Arshad previously failed to defend his javelin throw title at the event.

During the Commonwealth Games final in Glasgow, Arshad finished ninth among 12 competitors. His performance did not allow him to remain in the medal race.

He missed his opening attempt at the competition. His second throw reached 77.41 metres.

Arshad’s third attempt measured 75.39 metres. He could not improve his position enough to continue competing for the medals.

His Commonwealth Games result added pressure ahead of his next major international appearance. The Budapest competition offered another opportunity to return to the podium.

However, the Pakistani champion could not convert that opportunity into a medal. His best throw remained below the distance needed to advance.

Arshad’s latest result highlights the competitiveness of international javelin. Small differences in distance can determine which athletes progress to later rounds.

The Budapest final also produced a major performance from Pathirage. His 91.09-metre throw secured the championship with a strong final attempt.

For Arshad, the focus will now shift toward future competitions. The Olympic champion will look to regain his best form in upcoming international events.

Despite the disappointing result, Arshad remains an important figure in Pakistani athletics. His Olympic success has raised expectations around his performances.

The latest outcome means he fails to finish among the medal winners in Budapest. His 81.49-metre effort ended his campaign before the fourth round.
