Brazil secures bid to host the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027

Brazil has been announced as the host for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, marking a historic first for a South American nation. The decision was made at the FIFA Congress in Bangkok, Thailand, where Brazil’s bid received an overwhelming 119 votes, outpacing the joint bid from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany, which secured 78 votes.

Brazil’s successful bid came after a rigorous evaluation process. FIFA’s technical assessment scored Brazil 4 out of 5, placing it ahead of its European competitors. The criteria for this assessment included commercial viability, team facilities, accommodation, broadcast sites, stadiums, and fan festival venues.

The 2027 tournament will be the 10th edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Spain, the current champions, join the elite group of winners including the USA, Germany, Japan, and Norway.
