Football icon Ronaldo has hinted that his long and illustrious career may soon come to an end. In a heartfelt interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored, the 40-year-old Al Nassr star said that retirement is approaching βsoon,β calling it a decision he has been preparing for since his mid-20s.
βSoon,β Ronaldo replied when asked about his retirement plans. βIt will be very, very difficult, but Iβve been preparing my future since I was 25. Nothing compares to scoring goals, but everything has a beginning and an end.β
The Portuguese legend added that stepping away from the game will allow him to spend more time with his family. βIβm going to have more time for myself, for my family, to raise my kids,β he said.

The former Manchester United forward said he continues to follow the clubβs progress closely despite his departure under tense circumstances three years ago.
βIβm sad because Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world and one I still hold close to my heart,β Ronaldo shared. βThey donβt have the right structure right now, but I hope that changes because their potential is amazing.β
Manchester United finished 15th in the Premier League last season β their lowest position since 1973β74.

Ronaldo admitted his last match will likely be emotional. βI will probably cry,β he told Piers Morgan. βIβve been preparing for this moment since I was 25.β
The Portuguese captain said he no longer seeks validation from fame or money. βBeing the first football billionaire is great, but now I just want to enjoy training and competing.β

Cristiano Ronaldo began his professional career with Sporting CP in 2002 before joining Manchester United in 2003. He later achieved legendary status at Real Madrid, scoring 450 goals in 438 matches. After a successful stint with Juventus, he joined Saudi club Al Nassr, continuing to make history.
