Pakistan’s Fatima Zahra Reaches Commonwealth Games 2026 Boxing Quarterfinals

Pakistan’s Fatima Zahra has advanced to the quarterfinals of the women’s 60kg boxing event at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Scotland. She secured her place after an impressive victory over Lesotho’s Real Ebuoha.

The Pakistani boxer controlled the contest from the opening bell. She maintained the pressure throughout the bout and did not allow her opponent to settle. Her strong performance forced the referee to stop the fight, awarding Fatima Zahra a knockout victory.

The win moves the Pakistani athlete into the last eight of the competition. She will now face New Zealand’s Jordan Wilson in the quarterfinals. The winner of that bout will earn a place in the semifinals and move one step closer to a Commonwealth Games medal.

The result is another encouraging moment for Pakistan’s boxing team at the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Fatima Zahra has shown confidence and skill so far, raising hopes for a successful medal campaign.

Pakistan is competing at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a 20-member athlete delegation. The Games are being held from July 23 to August 2, with Pakistani athletes taking part in six different sports. The delegation is part of a larger 36-member national contingent led by Olympic javelin champion Arshad Nadeem.

Pakistan’s athletics squad includes Arshad Nadeem, Faiqa Riaz, Ansar Abbas, Muhammad Akhtar, Muhammad Ismail, Muhammad Yasir, and Noreen Hussain. The athletes will compete in various track and field events during the tournament.

The country has also entered a competitive boxing team. Alongside Fatima Zahra, Pakistan is represented by Afzal Khan, Malaika Zahid, Qudratullah, and Samama Rehman Butt. The team hopes to deliver strong performances and continue Pakistan’s tradition in international boxing.

Pakistan is also participating in swimming events. Hamza Asif, Hareem Malik, Jehanara Nabi, and Muhammad Ahmed Durrani will represent the country in their respective competitions.

In gymnastics, Shehzad Ali is Pakistan’s sole representative. Meanwhile, Shah Hussain Shah will compete in the judo event. Pakistan’s lawn bowls team consists of Maqsood Waseem Khan and Muhammad Ayub Qureshi, who will aim for positive results in their discipline.
