Gohar Shah Breaks Silence Following Multan Takeover

Multan Sultans have officially returned to the Pakistan Super League ahead of Season 11. The announcement came after Gohar Shah and his company, CD Ventures, secured a majority stake in the franchise.

Earlier, it was confirmed that CD Ventures had taken control of the Sialkot Stallionz franchise. The team was originally bought by OZ Developers for Rs 1.85 billion in Januaryโ€™s PSL auction.

The development was shared at a joint press conference in Lahore. PSL CEO Salman Naseer and outgoing owner Hamza Majeed attended the event. Officials confirmed that the franchise value now stands at Rs 2 billion per year after restructuring.

At the request of Gohar Shah, the Sialkot Stallionz will now compete as Multan Sultans. The decision marks a significant shift ahead of the new season.

In an emotional message, Gohar Shah expressed pride over the teamโ€™s return. He called it a moment of joy for the people of South Punjab. He described the franchise as a true symbol of the region.

Shah recalled his early cricket memories from Jalalpur Pirwala. He spoke about local village matches and the unity they created. He said those experiences shaped his love for the game.

According to Gohar Shah, his decision to acquire the team was based on two main goals. First, he wanted to protect regional representation in the PSL. Second, he aimed to improve the quality of cricket.

He said the team should play exciting cricket while strengthening Pakistanโ€™s cricket system. He also urged fans to support the franchise fully in the coming season.

Multan Sultans have reached four finals in the last five PSL editions. This record highlights their strong presence in the league. Shah reminded supporters of this achievement and asked them to stand behind the team.

He thanked PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for his leadership during the process. He also acknowledged Salman Naseer for helping complete the transition smoothly.

Shah extended gratitude to his father, Barrister Najaf Shah, and adviser Imran Ahmad Khan. He appreciated his internal team for working tirelessly to finalize the deal.

He also recognized the Tareen family for building the franchise into a competitive side.

Gohar Shah ended his statement with a strong message. He declared that a new chapter has begun for Multan Sultans as PSL 11 approaches.
