Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has addressed growing speculation about his potential exclusion from the T20 World Cup 2026 squad. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not yet announced the final team, fueling rumors about his spot.
Raufโs last T20I appearance for Pakistan was during the Asia Cup final against India on September 28, 2025. In that match, he conceded 50 runs in 3.4 overs while defending 146, raising questions about his ability to perform under pressure. Since then, he has missed the T20I series against Sri Lanka and the upcoming home series against Australia.
Speaking in a recent interview, Haris Rauf admitted that being left out would be disappointing but not the end of his career. โIf I am not included in the T20 World Cup, it would be disappointing, but it will not be the end of my career,โ he said.
Rauf emphasized his commitment to improving his bowling and delivering his best when given opportunities. โI will give my best performance and continue to work on my bowling,โ he added. Despite uncertainty, he extended his support to the national team ahead of the tournament. โI have good wishes for the national team in the T20 World Cup,โ Rauf said.
The pacer also spoke about the challenges of bowling in death overs at the international level. โWhenever I played for Pakistan, I always gave 100%. Bowling in the death overs is not easy,โ he noted.
Meanwhile, Haris Raufโs form in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 15 has been impressive. Representing the Melbourne Stars, he currently leads the wicket charts with 20 wickets in 11 matches, showing his readiness for future international duties.
Despite the ongoing debate over his World Cup selection, Rauf remains focused, confident, and determined to make a strong comeback for Pakistan whenever the opportunity arises.
