The ICC board meeting, which was expected to discuss crucial matters related to the 2025 Champions Trophy, has been postponed, according to former Pakistani cricketer Rashid Latif. He announced on social media that the meeting will likely be rescheduled for Sunday or Monday.
The delay follows an ongoing deadlock between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), centered on disagreements over hosting rights and the proposed hybrid model for the tournament. Both boards have been instructed to consult their respective foreign ministries to resolve these issues.

Pakistan has reiterated its firm stance on hosting the Champions Trophy entirely on home soil, while India remains opposed, citing its government’s refusal to permit the national cricket team to travel to Pakistan. The PCB has emphasized that a solution can only be reached if a viable formula is presented, rejecting the hybrid model that would split matches between the two countries.
The ICC has given the two cricket boards 24 to 48 hours to propose a solution, with the possibility of a vote by board members if no agreement is reached. The uncertainty surrounding the hosting arrangements, combined with differing statements from Indian cricket officials and their Ministry of External Affairs, has complicated efforts to finalize the structure of the tournament.
The ICC previously postponed its November 30 board meeting, as discussions on the future of the 2025 Champions Trophy remained inconclusive. With the deadlock ongoing, the ICC hopes to resolve the matter when board members reconvene soon.
