ICC Chairman Invites Mohsin Naqvi to Witness India-Pakistan Clash

The ICC has invited key cricket officials to attend the upcoming India-Pakistan match in Colombo, adding significance to the high-profile encounter. According to sources, ICC Chairman Jay Shah extended a formal invitation to Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, to witness the match in person.

Officials said Mohsin Naqvi is expected to travel to Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, to watch the clash. During the visit, he is also likely to meet the Pakistan national squad ahead of the important fixture.

Sources added that invitations have also been sent to senior officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The meeting between the two cricket boards is expected to take place on the sidelines of the match. The ICC leadership is also likely to participate in the discussions.

Reports indicate that Jay Shah himself will be present at the venue. A meeting between Mohsin Naqvi, Jay Shah, and Indian cricket officials is being planned. Cricket observers say such interactions can help improve communication between the two boards.

Meanwhile, Aminul Islam, President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, has also received an invitation from the ICC to watch the match.

The India-Pakistan encounter has gained added attention after recent controversies. Pakistan had earlier refused to play the match in solidarity with Bangladesh. The Bangladesh team had been knocked out of the T20 World Cup after refusing to play in India due to security concerns.

Sources said the ICC stepped in to resolve the situation. The governing body held discussions with both sides and convinced Pakistan to take part in the fixture. The intervention helped ensure the match would go ahead as scheduled.
