India Dominate Pakistan to Seal Big Win in U19 Asia Cup

DUBAI: India registered a convincing win over Pakistan in the U19 Asia Cup after a dominant all-round performance on Sunday. The match was played at the International Cricket Council Academy in Dubai. India comfortably chased momentum throughout the game and secured their second victory of the tournament.

Pakistan were set a challenging target of 241 runs. However, their batting line-up failed to cope with Indiaโ€™s disciplined bowling. The innings ended at 150 runs in 41.2 overs, falling well short of the target. The loss highlighted Pakistanโ€™s struggles in the U19 Asia Cup clash against their traditional rivals.

Pakistanโ€™s problems began early. Opener Sameer Minhas, who scored a century in the previous match, was dismissed for nine. Ali Hassan Baloch was removed without scoring, while Ahmed Hussain managed only four runs. Usman Khan also failed to settle and departed after scoring 16. As a result, Pakistan slipped to 30 for four within the first 14 overs.

Captain Farhan Yousaf and Huzaifa Ahsan attempted to stabilize the innings. The pair added 47 runs and briefly raised hopes of a recovery. Yousaf scored 23 off 34 balls before getting out, leaving Pakistan at 77 for five in 24 overs. After his dismissal, wickets continued to fall at regular intervals.

Huzaifa Ahsan stood out with a fighting knock. He top-scored with 70 runs from 83 balls. His innings included nine fours and two sixes. Despite his effort, Pakistan were eventually bowled out in the 38th over, handing India a clear win in the U19 Asia Cup.

Indiaโ€™s bowlers delivered a strong performance. Kanishk Chouhan and Deepesh Devendran took three wickets each. Their accurate bowling kept pressure on the Pakistani batters throughout the innings.

Earlier, India were bowled out for 240 in 46.1 overs in a match reduced to 49 overs per side due to rain. Pakistanโ€™s pacers Abdul Subhan and Mohammad Sayyam claimed three wickets each. India started quickly, with skipper Ayush Mhatre scoring 38 from 25 balls. Aaron George played a crucial role later, scoring 85 from 88 deliveries to lift India to a competitive total.
