Lahore hosts another major sporting event as the Bank of Punjab Junior National Tennis Championship 2026 continued with thrilling final matches on Thursday.
The tournament is taking place at the Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy in Nishtar Park Sports Complex. Young players from across Pakistan are competing in multiple age categories.
The event, organized by the Punjab Lawn Tennis Association, aims to promote emerging tennis talent. It also provides young athletes with valuable competitive experience.
Lahore hosts some of the country’s most promising tennis players during the championship. Several exciting matches took place in the final rounds.
In the Boys Under-18 final, M. Yahya produced an impressive performance. He defeated Hamza Ali Rizwan in straight sets by 6-3 and 6-1.
The Girls Under-18 final saw Hajra Sohail continue her excellent form. She beat Bismal Zia comfortably by 6-3 and 6-0.
Hajra Sohail also secured another title in the Girls Under-14 category. She defeated Khadija Khalil with a score of 4-2 and 4-1.
In the Boys Under-14 final, Shayan Afridi claimed the championship title. He overcame M. Muaz in straight sets, winning 4-2 and 4-0.
The Boys Under-14 doubles competition also delivered exciting action. M. Muaz and M. Aayan defeated Daniyal Abdullah and Ahmad Fareed Yawar 4-2 and 4-1.
The Boys Under-12 title was won by M. Aayan. He defeated M. Faizan with scores of 4-2 and 4-2.
The Girls Under-12 final proved highly competitive. Shahnoor Umer defeated Eman Shahbaz in a three-set encounter.
The final score was 4-2, 1-4 and 4-1. Both players displayed excellent skill and determination.
In the Boys Under-12 doubles final, Salaar Khan and M. Faizan dominated their opponents. They defeated Riyan Omer Khalil and M. Daniyal 4-0 and 4-1.
The Under-10 category also produced a standout performance. Mustafa Zia defeated Wali Abdullah by a commanding 6-0 score.
Lahore hosts this championship with support from key officials and sports administrators. Director General Sports Punjab Tariq Qureshi attended the event as chief guest.
Chief Internal Auditor of the Bank of Punjab Syed Rehan also attended the finals. Tournament Director Rashid Malik was present throughout the event.
The championship continues to strengthen grassroots tennis in Pakistan. It also creates opportunities for future national and international stars.
