Islamabad – More than 26,000 young players from 150 tehsils across the country are set to participate in the U-16 Talent Hunt Program, officials confirmed on Tuesday. The initiative aims to identify and nurture cricket talent at the grassroots level.
According to the organizing committee, trials will be held in multiple cities, giving young athletes a platform to showcase their skills. The program focuses on providing structured training and exposure to promising players.
Officials emphasized that the U-16 Talent Hunt Program is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the national cricket pipeline. Selected players will receive coaching, mentorship, and opportunities to compete at higher levels.
“The participation of over 26,000 players highlights the growing interest in cricket among the youth,” a senior official said. “Our goal is to ensure that talent from every tehsil gets a fair chance.”
The program also seeks to promote discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship among young athletes. Regional coaches and selectors will closely monitor performances to identify future national prospects.
