Pak vs SA Pakistan Bowled Out for 378 Despite Strong Partnerships

Pakistan were bowled out for 378 runs in their first innings of the opening Test against South Africa in the ongoing Pak vs SA series. Despite several strong partnerships, the team fell short of a bigger total after losing quick wickets late in the innings.

After being sent in to bat, Pakistan made a cautious start but lost Abdullah Shafique early for just two runs, trapped lbw by Kagiso Rabada. Captain Shan Masood (76 off 147) and Imam-ul-Haq (93 off 153) steadied the innings with a crucial 161-run partnership for the second wicket. Their disciplined approach kept South Africa’s bowlers at bay for much of the morning session.

Once both set batters departed, Pakistan’s middle order struggled. Babar Azam managed 23 runs, while Saud Shakeel was dismissed for a duck, putting pressure back on the hosts.

Mohammad Rizwan and Agha Salman then led a strong fightback, adding a vital 150-run stand for the sixth wicket. Rizwan scored a determined 75 off 140 balls, while Salman fell just short of a century with 93 off 145 deliveries, including three sixes and five fours.

However, the lower order collapsed quickly, losing the last five wickets for just 16 runs. Left-arm spinner Senuran Muthusamy turned the game with a superb spell, taking six wickets for 117 runs, including three in one over. Prenelan Subrayen added two wickets, while Rabada and Harmer took one each.
