Pakistan Army to Boost Fitness Training for National Cricketers

Pakistan Army to Boost Fitness Training for National Cricketers

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a ten-day training camp in collaboration with the Pakistan Army to enhance the fitness levels of the national cricketers. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi initiated the program, citing concerns about the current fitness standards of the team.

Scheduled from March 25 to April 8 at the Kakul Military Academy, the camp aims to address fitness issues ahead of upcoming series against New Zealand, Ireland, England, and the T20 World Cup.

Despite the timing coinciding with Ramadan and players’ limited rest after the conclusion of PSL 9, the camp underscores the importance of improving fitness standards. The decision reflects past successes when similar camps contributed to Pakistan’s rise to the top of Test rankings.

Chairman Naqvi emphasized the significance of prioritizing national commitments over participation in lucrative T20 leagues. He urged players to elevate their performances and achieve higher standards of fitness and strength.

The collaboration between the PCB and the Pakistan Army underscores a concerted effort to enhance the physical preparedness of the national cricket team.
