The Pakistani duo, former world champion Muhammad Asif and Asjad Iqbal, delivered outstanding performances in the final stages. Both players produced century breaks that proved decisive in securing the victory. Hong Kong China 2 featured Chau Hon Man and Nansen Wan.
Hong Kong started the final strongly. Chau Hon Man defeated Asjad Iqbal 94–0, including an 85 break, giving Hong Kong the first frame. Pakistan bounced back in the second singles match. Muhammad Asif scored 82 points to beat Nansen Wan 95–17, leveling the contest. Hong Kong then took the doubles frame 84–41, putting Pakistan behind 2-1.
The momentum shifted in the reverse singles. Muhammad Asif compiled a flawless 100 break to defeat Chau Hon Man 100–36. This win tied the match 2-2, setting the stage for a thrilling final frame. Asjad Iqbal rose to the occasion, scoring a brilliant 104 break to beat Nansen Wan 104–0, completing Pakistan’s comeback and securing the championship.
The final frame scores were: 0–94 (85), 95 (82)–17, 41–84, 100 (100)–36, 104 (104)–0.
This triumph marks a significant achievement in Muhammad Asif’s career. It is his seventh world title, including three team world championships, three individual world titles, and one World Masters crown. Asjad Iqbal also earned praise for his decisive performance under pressure.
