ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan national cricket team has left for Sri Lanka ahead of the upcoming T20I Series. The three-match series is set to begin later this week. Fans are eagerly awaiting the opening clash.
According to officials, players Faheem Ashraf, Salman Mirza, and Naseem Shah departed for Sri Lanka today. The rest of the squad will fly from Lahore to Colombo on Tuesday. The team is expected to gather in Colombo ahead of the first T20I match.
Players returning from the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) have already joined the national camp in Pakistan. Meanwhile, foreign coaching and support staff will travel directly to Sri Lanka. All-rounder Shadab Khan, who recently played in Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL), will join the team in Sri Lanka after flying in from Australia.
The three-match T20I Series will kick off on January 7. The second T20I is scheduled for January 9, followed by the final match on January 11. The series promises to be a competitive contest as both teams look to start the year with strong performances.
Officials said the team is in good spirits and preparing well for the matches. Pakistan captain and coaching staff emphasized the importance of focus and teamwork during the series. The squad includes a mix of experienced players and young talent.
