Pakistan Crushes Afghanistan in Tri-Series Cricket Final

Pakistan beat Afghanistan

Sharjah, 8 September 2025 – Pakistan sealed the UAE T20I Tri-Nation Series title with a dominant 75-run win over Afghanistan at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan, batting first, managed 141 for 8 in 20 overs. Fakhar Zaman played a steady knock of 27 runs, while Mohammad Nawaz added 25. Captain Salman Ali Agha contributed 24, helping the side reach a competitive total despite regular wickets.

Afghanistan’s chase never got going. Pakistan’s bowlers struck early, creating pressure that only grew with every over. The Afghan batting collapsed to 66 all out in 15.5 overs, with only Rashid Khan (17) and Sediqullah Atal (13) offering short resistance.

The star of the night was Mohammad Nawaz. The left-arm spinner delivered a career-best performance, taking five wickets for 19 runs, including a brilliant hat-trick. His spell dismantled Afghanistan’s middle and lower order, ensuring Pakistan’s comfortable victory. Nawaz was named Player of the Match.

This win gives the team a major confidence boost ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup. Captain Salman Agha also hinted that the team could use two spinners in future games, showing tactical preparation for regional conditions.

For Afghanistan, the cricket loss was disappointing after strong performances earlier in the series. Their bowlers had impressed in previous matches, but the batting unit failed to handle Pakistan’s disciplined attack in the final.
