After months of uncertainty, Pakistan football head coach Nolberto Solano has finally received his pending salary. This development ends a four-month delay that had once again exposed the administrative problems within the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF).
Reports recently revealed that the Peruvian coach had not been paid since taking charge of the national team. According to local media sources, the federation has now cleared Solanoβs dues. Payments are also being processed for other members of the coaching and support staff.
While this brings relief to Solano and his team, it also highlights a long-standing issue in Pakistan football β the repeated delay in payments for players and staff. Financial uncertainty has been a persistent challenge for the PFF, affecting morale and professionalism within the organization.
This is not the first time such issues have surfaced. Previous coaches, including Stephen Constantine, as well as domestic players and youth officials, have faced similar problems. Many have gone months without pay while waiting for bureaucratic hurdles to be resolved.
Despite the financial troubles, Solano has remained calm and professional in public. He took charge in July and has continued to focus on building a competitive national side amid off-field distractions. The PFF has not issued an official statement on the matter so far.
With the salary issue now resolved, Solano and his team can finally shift their focus back to football. Fans hope this marks the beginning of more stability in Pakistan football, which has struggled with governance and management challenges for years.
Experts, however, stress that lasting progress will only come if the PFF reforms its internal systems and ensures timely financial operations. Until then, Pakistan footballβs progress will continue to depend as much on administrative reforms as on performance on the pitch.
