Pakistan Players May Be Partially Available For BPL 2025-26

Several key Pakistan players have been picked by franchises for the upcoming BPL season. The list includes Saim Ayub, Khawaja Nafay, Sufiyan Muqeem, Sahibzada Farhan, Mohammad Nawaz, Jahandad Khan, Ihsanullah, Haider Ali, Usman Khan, Abrar Ahmed, and Mohammad Amir.

However, their participation may be partially available due to clashes with Pakistanโ€™s international schedule. Sources indicate that centrally contracted players are unlikely to be cleared for the full BPL window.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering limiting No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) for players who are permanent members of Pakistanโ€™s T20I squad. While no outright refusals have been issued yet, availability will likely be partially available and assessed on a case-by-case basis.

The BPL 2025-26 is scheduled from December 26, 2025, to January 23, 2026. During this time, Pakistan will tour Sri Lanka for a three-match T20I series on January 7, 9, and 11, followed by a home T20I series against Australia later in January. These series are part of preparations for the ICC Menโ€™s T20 World Cup 2026.

Franchises have been informed about the potential for Pakistan players to be partially available, allowing them to plan for backups or replacements. Players such as Sahibzada Farhan, Mohammad Nawaz, Usman Khan, and Abrar Ahmed are now considered core members of the T20I team, making their full participation in the BPL unlikely.

The PCB has emphasized that each NOC request will be reviewed individually. Franchises are advised to manage their squads accordingly, balancing the presence of top Pakistan talent with the realities of the international schedule.

Fans can expect to see Pakistan stars in the BPL, but their involvement will be partially available, reflecting the ongoing commitments of the national team during this critical period. The tournament remains highly anticipated, even with the expected scheduling challenges.
