The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced its 16-member T20I Squad for the upcoming three-match series against Australia. The matches will be held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on 29 and 31 January, and 1 February, with all games starting at 4pm PKT.
Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi make a strong return to the T20I Squad after missing Pakistan’s recent series in Sri Lanka. Their comeback adds experience and balance to the team, strengthening both the batting and bowling line-ups.
Spin bowler Shadab Khan will continue his comeback from the previous T20I series. He will be joined by Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, and Usman Tariq, forming a strong spin-bowling contingent for the home series. The squad also includes promising talents like Naseem Shah and Fakhar Zaman, aiming to give Pakistan a competitive edge.
The Pakistan squad and support staff are set to arrive in Lahore on 24 January. Preparations for the series will begin the following day, ensuring the team is ready for the high-profile matches. Australia is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on 28 January. This will be only their second T20I series in Pakistan, after a single T20I match in April 2022 at the same venue.
The 16-member T20I Squad announced by PCB includes Salman Ali Agha (captain), Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay (wk), Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan (wk), Saim Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan (wk), and Usman Tariq.
The series schedule is as follows: the 1st T20I will be played on Thursday, 29 January; the 2nd T20I on Saturday, 31 January; and the 3rd T20I on Sunday, 1 February. All matches will take place at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, starting at 4pm PKT.
