Pakistan’s Under-19 cricket team secured the Tri-Nation Series title with a commanding nine-wicket victory over hosts Zimbabwe in the final on Tuesday, 24NewsHD reported.
Chasing a modest target of 158 runs, Pakistan U-19 reached the total in just 16.2 overs, losing only one wicket. Sameer Munhas starred with an unbeaten 114, hitting 17 fours and five sixes, while Mohammad Shayan added a solid 38 runs.
Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first. Zimbabwe was restricted to 158 all out in 44.4 overs. Michael Blignaut top-scored with 60 runs, while Taitenda Chemogoroh remained not out on 28. Only two other Zimbabwean batters crossed double figures, highlighting Pakistan’s disciplined bowling effort.
Umar Zaib led the attack with four wickets, supported by Abdul Subhan’s two, and one wicket each for Mohammad Siyam, Daniyal Ali Khan, and Ahmed Hussain. This performance ensured Pakistan dominated every aspect of the game and lifted the Tri-Nation Series trophy convincingly.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi congratulated the U-19 team for their triumph in Zimbabwe. In a social media message, he praised the players for showing passion, skill, and dedication.
