Afghanistanβs star all-rounder Rashid Khan has regained the top position in the ICC Menβs ODI Bowling Rankings after a stunning display against Bangladesh. The leg-spinner overtook South Africaβs Keshav Maharaj following Afghanistanβs 3-0 series win in Abu Dhabi.
Rashid was in exceptional form, taking 11 wickets in three matches to help Afghanistan secure their first-ever ODI series sweep over Bangladesh. His performance pushed him five places up the ICC rankings, reclaiming the No.1 ODI bowler title. Maharaj now sits second, while Sri Lankaβs Maheesh Theekshana holds third place.
In the batting charts, Afghanistan opener Ibrahim Zadran made a strong move, climbing eight spots to second place in the ICC ODI Batting Rankings. He now trails Indiaβs Shubman Gill, who continues to lead the list, by just 20 rating points. Indiaβs Rohit Sharma remains third, while Pakistanβs Babar Azam slipped to fourth with 739 points.
Other Afghan players also made gains. Rahmanullah Gurbaz advanced to 16th, and veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi moved up six spots to reach joint 50th. From Pakistan, Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman held steady at 25th and 27th, respectively, while Salman Agha and Imam-ul-Haq rose slightly in the standings.
In bowling, Pakistanβs Shaheen Shah Afridi ranks 15th, followed by Haris Rauf (29th), Abrar Ahmed (38th), and Naseem Shah (43rd).
Afghanistanβs dominance extended to the all-roundersβ category, where Azmatullah Omarzai claimed the No.1 position after taking seven wickets against Bangladesh. Mohammad Nabi is third, and Rashid Khan climbed two places to fourth, underlining Afghanistanβs growing strength across all formats.
With this latest achievement, Rashid Khan has reaffirmed his status as one of world cricketβs finest bowlers, continuing to inspire Afghanistanβs rise on the global stage.
