Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan has broken India’s Abhishek Sharma’s record for the most runs in a three-match bilateral T20I series between two full-member nations. Farhan achieved the milestone during Pakistan’s recent series against Sri Lanka.

The right-handed batter delivered an impressive performance in his first home series as Pakistan’s full-time T20I captain. He scored a half-century in each of the three matches, helping Pakistan secure the series victory. His consistent batting also earned him the Player of the Series award.

Sahibzada Farhan finished the series with 238 runs at an average of 79.33. He maintained a strike rate of 165.27 throughout the three matches. His total surpassed the previous record of 229 runs set by Indian opener Abhishek Sharma.

Sharma achieved that mark during India’s three-match home T20I series against Afghanistan earlier in 2026. He scored 229 runs at an average of 76.33, including a century and a half-century. Farhan’s latest performance has now moved him ahead of the Indian batter in the record books.

Farhan began the Sri Lanka series with a match-winning innings of 89 runs off 53 balls. His knock included 10 fours and four sixes. The performance helped Pakistan chase a target of 183 runs and win the opening match by four wickets.

He continued his strong form in the second match, scoring 73 runs from just 44 deliveries. His contribution helped Pakistan post a total of 215 for three wickets. Sri Lanka struggled during the chase and finished with 133 for seven in their 20 overs. Pakistan secured the series with that victory.

In the third match, Sahibzada Farhan scored another half-century, making 76 runs from 47 balls. His innings helped Pakistan set a competitive total against the visitors. However, Sri Lanka successfully chased the target and secured a consolation win.

Despite losing the final match, Pakistan had already secured the series. Farhan’s three consecutive half-centuries made him the standout batter of the contest.

The updated list of leading run-scorers in three-match bilateral T20I series between full-member nations places Farhan at the top. Abhishek Sharma follows with 229 runs against Afghanistan in 2026. New Zealand’s Colin Munro scored 223 runs against the West Indies in 2017–18. Australia’s David Warner recorded 217 runs against Sri Lanka in 2019.
