According to Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Jay Shah, the outcome of this year’s Asia Cup, which might determine Pakistan’s ability to compete in the World Cup in India, will be determined on the sidelines of Sunday’s Indian Premier League (IPL) final in Ahmedabad.

After India declined to travel the nation, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which will host the eight-team Asia Cup in September, proposed a “hybrid” plan to hold some games at a neutral location.
Due to their strained political ties, India and Pakistan’s bilateral cricket matches are now on hold, and they only meet in multi-team competitions.
If Pakistan is forced to hold the full Asia Cup in another nation, which may be the World Cup in India in October or November, they have vowed to boycott that event held in UAE.
