Apple Reportedly Working on iPhone Flip Foldable for 2027

Apple is reportedly working on a new foldable smartphone called the iPhone Flip, marking the company’s entry into the growing foldable device market. The device is expected to launch around 2027 and could become one of the most significant changes to the iPhone lineup in recent years.

According to industry reports, the new iPhone model will feature a clamshell-style foldable design. This design will allow the phone to fold in half, making it compact and easy to carry. When unfolded, the device is expected to offer a full-sized display similar to standard smartphones.

The iPhone Flip is rumored to include a 6.5-inch foldable screen. When closed, users may still be able to check notifications through a smaller secondary display on the outside. This screen would allow quick access to messages, alerts, and other basic features without opening the phone.

Apple is also expected to introduce a hybrid version of iOS for the foldable device. This software will likely adapt automatically depending on whether the phone is folded or unfolded. The goal is to provide a smooth and consistent experience for users.

Reports suggest the iPhone will be designed with portability in mind. The device may measure around 10 to 12 millimeters when folded. When opened, the thickness could drop to around 5 to 6 millimeters. This design aims to combine compact size with durability.

In terms of performance, the iPhone Flip is expected to feature Apple’s A21 chip. This processor would focus on efficiency and battery management. The device may also include a dual-camera system with a 48-megapixel main sensor and an ultra-wide lens.

For security, Apple might introduce side-mounted Touch ID on the foldable iPhone. This feature could replace Face ID on this model to improve usability when the device is folded.

Industry analysts believe Apple plans a gradual entry into the foldable market. The company may first release a larger foldable device in 2026 before introducing the iPhone Flip in 2027.

If launched, the iPhone could compete directly with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series. Pricing is expected to range between $1,000 and $1,100, targeting users who prefer compact smartphones with advanced technology.
