Chery Introduces Locally Assembled Tiggo 7 PHEV in Pakistan

In a major step toward expanding local auto production, Chery has introduced the locally assembled Tiggo 7 PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) in Pakistan. The move marks a significant milestone for the country’s evolving hybrid car market, signaling growing consumer demand for sustainable and energy-efficient vehicles.

According to company officials, the Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV will be produced at the company’s Karachi assembly plant, which is now capable of rolling out hybrid models under its local partnership. The launch reflects Chery’s long-term commitment to Pakistan’s automotive industry and aligns with the government’s policy to promote eco-friendly transportation.

The Tiggo 7 PHEV combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor, offering impressive performance and efficiency. It can run up to 70 kilometers on electric power alone, reducing fuel consumption and emissions. The model also features advanced safety systems, a digital dashboard, panoramic sunroof, and other premium amenities designed for modern drivers.

Chery officials highlighted that local assembly will help reduce prices and improve after-sales service, making hybrid technology more accessible to Pakistani consumers. The vehicle is expected to compete with existing hybrid SUVs from Japanese and Korean automakers.

Analysts believe the launch of the locally assembled Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV could accelerate Pakistan’s transition toward hybrid and electric mobility. With rising fuel prices and growing environmental concerns, such initiatives are seen as essential for the future of the country’s transport sector.
