Indonesia, Apple Reportedly Reach Deal to Lift iPhone 16 Ban

Indonesia has reportedly reached an agreement with Apple to lift the iPhone 16 sales ban after Apple committed to a $1 billion investment. The deal includes building two new facilities—one in Bandung for accessories and another in Batam for AirTags.

The ban was imposed in 2024 over Apple’s failure to meet Indonesia’s 40% local content requirement. With this investment, Apple aims to strengthen its supply chain and expand its presence in the growing Indonesian market.
