Instagram now allows users to download Reels from public accounts

Following the testing phase, Instagram now allows all users to download Reels from public accounts. The announcement of this update was made by Instagram’s CEO, Adam Mosseri, on his broadcast channel.

Downloaded Reels will include an Instagram watermark along with the account’s username, as mentioned by Mosseri. Reels with original tracks will retain their music, but if licensed music is used as a background, Instagram will remove the audio.

This new feature mirrors the option available on TikTok, providing users with the convenience of sharing their content across multiple platforms. Instagram’s recent move is seen as an emulation of this functionality.
