iPhone 18 Pro Price Shock? What Buyers Should Expect

iPhone 18 Pro Price Shock What Buyers Should Expect

Apple is expected to maintain stable pricing for its upcoming Pro models. New supply chain research suggests the iPhone 18 Pro could launch at similar prices as the current lineup.

According to Jeff Pu, an equity analyst at GF Securities, Apple is focusing on strict cost control. In a research note shared with media outlets, Pu said recent supply chain checks show the company wants to keep prices either unchanged or close to current levels.

In the United States, the iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1,099. The iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at $1,199. If Apple follows the same strategy, the iPhone 18 Pro and its Pro Max version may debut at the same starting prices.

Pu explained that Apple is working closely with major suppliers. These include Samsung and SK Hynix, which provide memory components. The company is reportedly negotiating better deals for DRAM and NAND chips.

Memory prices have increased in recent months. Rising costs could affect overall production expenses. However, Apple appears determined to manage these costs carefully. The goal is to avoid raising retail prices for the iPhone 18 Pro models.

Beyond memory chips, Apple may also look at other components. These include displays and camera systems. By controlling expenses across different parts, Apple may offset higher manufacturing costs.

Another well-known Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, shared a similar view. He said Apple plans to avoid price increases as much as possible. Kuo believes the company will likely keep starting prices flat compared to the iPhone 17 Pro lineup.

Industry observers say price stability could help Apple stay competitive. Smartphone buyers remain sensitive to price changes. Holding the line on pricing may support strong demand for the iPhone 18 Pro series.

Apple is widely expected to unveil its new Pro models in September. The company usually holds its major iPhone launch event in the fall.
