Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, showcased its first working prototype of augmented-reality glasses named Orion during its annual Connect conference. CEO Mark Zuckerberg emphasized that these glasses overlay holograms onto the physical world and outlined plans for future improvements to make them smaller and more affordable for consumers.
In addition to the Orion glasses, Meta announced several updates to its AI assistant. New features for the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses include the ability to scan QR codes, stream music, and provide real-time language translation.

The company also introduced a new entry-level mixed-reality headset, the Quest 3S, with prices starting at $299.99, while phasing out older Quest models.

Despite significant financial losses in its metaverse division, Meta remains focused on advancing its AR and AI technologies.
