Nvidia is preparing to launch an enhanced version of the RTX 4080 in early 2024, with the possibility of it being called the RTX 4080 Super or the RTX 4080 Ti. This move appears to align with Nvidia’s current lineup of Ada Lovelace GPUs.
The upcoming GeForce RTX 4080 Ti is expected to feature the AD102 GPU core, offering incremental improvements in its core configuration compared to the standard RTX 4080. It is projected to have a Total Graphics Power (TGP) rating of 450W, with the actual power consumption likely falling within the range of 380-420W.

Additionally, there are indications of potential upgrades in memory configuration, including a 320-bit memory interface and 20 GB of VRAM. This contrasts with the existing RTX 4080, which boasts a 256-bit interface and 16 GB of VRAM. The objective is to address the significant performance and specification gap between the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 models.
As for pricing, the new RTX 4080 Ti is expected to be priced around $1199, possibly prompting an official price reduction for the standard RTX 4080 to $999. However, the RTX 4080 has faced criticism in the consumer market due to its less favorable price-to-performance ratio. While recent price adjustments may boost sales somewhat, it remains one of the less popular choices within the RTX 40 series.
