In October 2023, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) reported a decline in the number of 3G and 4G users, teledensity, and Next Generation Mobile Service (NGMS) penetration compared to September 2023.
Despite this, the overall number of cellular subscribers increased from 189.74 million in September to 189.77 million in October.

Cellular teledensity decreased from 79.44 percent to 79.32 percent, and total teledensity declined from 80.52 percent to 80.4 percent in the same period. The number of 3G and 4G users in Pakistan saw a slight decrease from 126.93 million in September to 126.92 million in October.
NGMS penetration also dropped from 53.14 percent to 53.05 percent from September to October. Jazz experienced a decline in 3G users but an increase in 4G users, while Zong saw a decrease in 3G subscribers but an increase in 4G users. Telenor reported a decrease in both 3G and 4G users, and Ufone had a decrease in 3G users but an increase in 4G users during this period.
