X, formerly known as Twitter, has introduced new subscription tiers to enhance its existing offerings. The existing $8 per month Premium subscription now serves as the middle-tier option.
Basic: Priced at $3 per month, the Basic subscription provides users with the ability to edit posts, compose longer posts and extended videos, undo posts, and access Reader for distraction-free consumption of longer posts. It also offers background video playback, video downloads, and a modest boost in reply interactions. Users can enable SMS two-factor authentication and have their direct messages (DMs) encrypted. The Basic tier allows for app icon customization, bookmark folder creation, navigation and theme settings personalization, showcasing top posts in a dedicated profile tab, and hiding likes and subscriptions. However, it does not include a checkmark or ID verification.

Premium: Priced at $8 per month, the Premium subscription includes all the features of the Basic tier and goes further by reducing ads by half in both the “For You” and “Following” sections. It offers an enhanced reply boost, the coveted checkmark (with the option to hide it), and ID verification. Users gain access to the Creator Hub for earning income from posts and receiving funds from followers’ subscriptions. Premium subscribers also receive access to analytics and the benefits of X Pro and Media Studio.
Premium+: The newly introduced Premium+ tier, available at $16 per month, includes all the features of Premium while offering an ad-free experience in both “For You” and “Following” sections, along with the most substantial reply boost.
