WhatsApp is upgrading its video calling experience with new Augmented Reality (AR) features, now expanding to Apple users. The latest beta version for iOS introduces AR tools that allow users to customize call effects and apply swipeable filters to change color tones and add visual effects during calls.
Among the new features are backgrounds such as beach scenes, a low-light mode to enhance video visibility in dim settings, and a touch-up mode for real-time skin smoothing and blemish removal. These AR tools are currently available to beta testers, with a broader rollout anticipated soon.
