RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Police have decided to introduce E-Ticketing and digital passenger monitoring ahead of the Pakistan-Sri Lanka Test match.
The match is scheduled to take place at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from November 9 to 13, 2026.
The new security arrangements will cover bus stands, wagon terminals, hotels, guesthouses, and other accommodation facilities across the city.
Authorities aim to improve passenger tracking, strengthen surveillance, and identify wanted suspects through digital records.
E-Ticketing System to Monitor Passengers in Rawalpindi
Under the security plan, police will introduce E-Ticketing at bus and wagon stands using the Travel Eye application.
The system will maintain digital records of passengers entering and leaving Rawalpindi through public transport services.
Police officials believe the application will help authorities verify passenger information and monitor movement across the city.
The initiative forms part of broader security preparations for the upcoming international cricket match.
Law enforcement agencies will also increase monitoring at major transport terminals to ensure effective security arrangements.
Hotel Eye App to Track Visitors and Guests
Rawalpindi Police will also use the Hotel Eye application to maintain records of people staying at local accommodation facilities.
These include hotels, guesthouses, inns, and private rest houses operating within the city.
According to a police official, the application will help authorities verify guest information and identify suspicious individuals.
The digital system will also support efforts to locate wanted suspects entering Rawalpindi or staying at local hotels.
Both Travel Eye and Hotel Eye will provide law enforcement agencies with passenger and visitor information.
SSP Operations Reviews Security Arrangements
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Malik Tariq Mahboob chaired a meeting to review security preparations.
Representatives from several departments attended the meeting to discuss coordination and surveillance measures.
These included the Regional Transport Authority, Counter-Terrorism Department, Special Branch, and City Traffic Police.
Officials reviewed arrangements for monitoring transport terminals and accommodation facilities ahead of the cricket match.
The meeting also focused on improving coordination between departments responsible for maintaining security.
Police Post to Be Established at General Bus Stand
SSP Malik Tariq Mahboob directed officials to strengthen surveillance at bus and wagon stands across Rawalpindi.
He also announced plans to establish a police post inside the General Bus Stand.
The facility will support police monitoring and security operations at one of the city’s major transport locations.
Authorities expect the additional police presence to improve surveillance and support security arrangements during the Test match.
The E-Ticketing initiative will operate alongside digital guest registration and increased police monitoring.
These measures are intended to strengthen security as Rawalpindi prepares to host Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
