The feature will allow users to create unique usernames made of letters and numbers. This could make it easier to start conversations without saving phone numbers, especially for short-term chats, business use, or when talking to strangers.

According to WABetaInfo, the feature is still in testing but could roll out soon in future updates. Experts believe it may set a new privacy standard for messaging apps.
