The Effect of PMLN on Political Dynamics of Balochistan

Zahid Gishkori a well-known journalist has brought to light through his publication on Hum News the major Political changes in Balochistan. Political dynamics in Balochistan have taken a new turn as Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif prepares for an upcoming visit to Quetta on November 14th. Confirming Sharif’s scheduled arrival, PML-N senior leader Ayaz Sadiq disclosed that Jaffar Mandokhel, the provincial president of PML-N, will host a gathering of more than a dozen former parliamentarians expected to announce their affiliation with the PML-N.

The anticipated inclusion of former Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan into the PML-N has also been hinted at by party sources.

Moreover, the party is poised to welcome Dostain Domki, brother of the current caretaker chief minister of Balochistan from the Domki group, along with Abdul Rahman Khetran, Sardar Masood Luni, Haji Tor Khel, and Asim Kurd. Additional figures such as Changiz Marri, Shoaib Nosharwani, Majib Hussaini, Muhammad Khan Lehri, Barkat Rind, and Anwar Shahwani are also expected to join the PML-N ranks.

Sources within the party suggest that Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, and other senior leaders will convene with these political figures in Quetta, hinting at an imminent announcement. Ayaz Sadiq had already initiated meetings with numerous Baloch political leaders in Quetta the previous week.

Meanwhile, reports indicate ongoing dialogues between other Baloch politicians and parties like the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), while interactions between Jam Kamal’s group and PML-N have been noted. Sources suggest that several Baloch political figures are set to decide their electoral allegiances next week, with announcements regarding party affiliations also expected.
