Teen Bride Dies After Brutal Sexual Abuse in Karachi — Husband Allegedly Inserted a Metal Pipe into her Body

A 19-year-old newlywed woman from Lyari, Karachi, tragically passed away after suffering severe sexual abuse by her husband, authorities confirmed on Wednesday. The incident occurred just days after her marriage and has sparked outrage in the community.

The young woman was married on June 15, and the abuse reportedly took place two days later. According to police reports, her husband allegedly inserted a metal pipe into her body, causing significant injuries. She was admitted to Civil Hospital Karachi in critical condition shortly after the assault and remained in a coma.

A police surgeon, Dr. Summaiya Syed, confirmed that the victim’s injuries were consistent with sexual violence. Despite receiving initial treatment at another hospital, the victim’s condition worsened, and she was transferred to the trauma center at Civil Hospital Karachi for further care.

The victim’s brother filed an FIR on July 5, accusing her husband of attempted murder and rape. The police have arrested the husband, and authorities are currently awaiting consent for a post-mortem examination to confirm the exact cause of death.

“Ms. Shanti, 19, rape victim, passed away at the trauma centre of Civil Hospital Karachi at 10:45 am today,” Dr. Syed stated. The brutal nature of the sexual abuse has deeply shaken the community and raised concerns about the safety of women in similar situations.

In her brother’s statement, he highlighted the severity of the crime, saying, “On the third day of her marriage, my sister was subjected to brutal sexual violence allegedly by her husband.” He further added that she was transferred from a private hospital to the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Trauma Centre, where she remained in critical condition before her death.

The case has drawn attention to the ongoing issue of sexual abuse in the country, especially within the confines of marriage. Authorities are continuing to investigate the matter, and the public is waiting for justice to be served for this tragic incident.
