The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has officially denied claims that the Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) has been declared equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, the HEC labeled the circulating notification as fake, urging the public not to believe the false information.
According to HEC, the DAE, which typically consists of 14 years of education, has not been equated with a bachelor’s degree. The statement clarified that the notification being shared online, which claims that DAE is equivalent to 14 years of education, is false and misleading.
The post emphasized the importance of relying solely on official announcements from HEC’s verified platforms.
“The notification circulating regarding DAE’s equivalence to 14 years of education is fake. Please rely only on official announcements from HEC’s verified platforms,” the statement read.
Public Warned Against Fake Notifications
HEC also warned the public to be cautious about unverified announcements circulating on social media. The Commission urged citizens to always refer to official and verified platforms for authentic updates regarding educational matters.
This clarification comes after a fake notification, dated July 23, started gaining traction online. The false claim suggested that the three-year DAE program, typically pursued after completing intermediate education, had been recognized by HEC as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
HEC has strongly emphasized the need for transparency and has urged the public to verify all information from official HEC sources before accepting or sharing it.
The Commission reassured the public that it would continue to provide clear and accurate information regarding educational qualifications.
HEC’s Commitment to Transparency
In its statement, HEC reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency in its operations and ensuring that all official announcements are made through authorized channels.
As the Commission continues to address the spread of false information, it has reminded the public to exercise caution and verify details before making decisions based on online claims.
