In a late-night offensive on Tuesday, the Indian military executed 24 coordinated attacks on six locations within Pakistan, deliberately targeting civilian populations, places of worship, and residential areas, according to the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) during a high-level press briefing.
The military spokesperson confirmed that at least eight Pakistani civilians — including women and a young girl — lost their lives, while 35 others sustained injuries. The areas most severely affected included Muzaffarabad, Ahmedpur East, Muridke, Shakargarh, Sialkot’s Kotli Lohara region, and Kotli in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Mosques Among Primary Targets
The DG ISPR condemned the deliberate targeting of religious sites, calling it a “shameful violation of sacred sanctuaries.” Several mosques were hit during the strikes, including Masjid Bilal in Muzaffarabad, which was completely destroyed, injuring a young girl. Other mosques, such as Masjid Subhan in Ahmedpur East and Abbas Mosque in Kotli, were also struck, resulting in the martyrdom of two worshippers. A mosque in Muridke also came under attack.
“These actions highlight the enemy’s utter disregard for human life and religious sanctity,” the spokesperson stated.
High Civilian Toll in Ahmedpur East
Ahmedpur East saw the highest number of casualties, where five individuals — including women and a girl — were martyred when residential neighborhoods were shelled. Emergency services were immediately dispatched, and rescue operations are ongoing.
Other Impacted Areas
Shakargarh was also targeted, although no casualties or major damage were reported. In two separate incidents, shells failed to detonate, preventing further destruction. In Kotli Lohara, located north of Sialkot, two strikes occurred but caused only minimal damage.
Pakistan’s Response
The Pakistan Army has initiated retaliatory measures in response to the unprovoked aggression. The DG ISPR stated that the armed forces are engaging the enemy with decisive force.
“India has launched a cowardly and unprovoked attack, but our response is strong and effective. The enemy will face consequences it will not forget,” the military official declared.
