Netanyahu Confirms Israel’s Support to India During Recent Conflict with Pakistan

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu recently confirmed Israel’s support to India during the May conflict with Pakistan. In a public statement, Netanyahu acknowledged Israel’s role in providing military assistance to India amid escalating tensions.

Netanyahu shared details of his recent meeting with the Indian ambassador to Israel, JP Singh, in Jerusalem. The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the countries, focusing especially on security and economic ties.

During a separate meeting with senior Indian journalists, Netanyahu revealed that Israel supplied weapons used by India in the conflict. These included HARPY drones and the Barak-8 missile system, which Israel and India developed together. Netanyahu said the weapons “worked fine” and had been tested in battle conditions.

Reports show that India has bought nearly $3 billion worth of military equipment from Israel over the past decade. This includes radars, drones, and missiles. Israel ranks as India’s fourth-largest defense supplier after Russia, France, and the United States.

The conflict began after an incident on April 22 in Indian-administered Kashmir. India accused Pakistan of being behind the attack, a claim Pakistan denied and offered to investigate.

In May, India crossed into Pakistan airspace, launching missile strikes. Pakistan responded by shooting down six Indian fighter jets, including advanced Rafale jets.

The clashes lasted four days and involved air, drone, and artillery attacks. The confrontation ended when then-US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire on May 10 via his social media account.

Netanyahu’s recent statements underline Israel’s growing defense partnership with India. His confirmation of Israeli weapons use during the conflict adds a new dimension to the regional security dynamics between India and Pakistan.
