Today (Saturday), Pakistan is observing Eid ul Adha 2025 with deep religious devotion to honor the immense sacrifice made by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and his son Hazrat Ismael (AS).
The day began with special prayers in mosques across the country, seeking blessings for the unity of the Muslim Ummah and the peace, prosperity, and progress of Pakistan.

Eid prayers were held at mosques, open grounds, and Eidgahs in cities, towns, and villages throughout the country. Religious scholars, during their sermons, emphasized the essence and lessons behind the historic sacrifice made by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismael (AS).
Following tradition, people will offer animal sacrifices to revive the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).
To ensure public safety, both federal and provincial governments have implemented tight security measures. Additionally, special plans have been made for the effective disposal of sacrificial remains and other waste to maintain cleanliness.
PM Shehbaz Sharif’s Eid Message: A Call for Unity, Sacrifice, and Support for the Oppressed
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended heartfelt greetings to the Pakistani nation and the global Muslim community on the sacred occasion of Eidul Azha 1446 Hijri. He also urged everyone to remember the oppressed people of Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in their prayers.
In his message, the Prime Minister said, “I wholeheartedly congratulate the entire nation and the Islamic world on Eidul Azha and the blessed ritual of Hajj. These sacred days remind us of the unmatched devotion, sacrifice, and submission of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS), which Allah Almighty valued so deeply that their actions were elevated to the level of worship.”
He prayed for the acceptance of all prayers and sacrifices offered by the people of Pakistan and the broader Muslim Ummah, expressing hope that such blessed occasions continue to grace our lives.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Eidul Azha goes beyond animal sacrifice. It teaches the importance of setting aside personal desires for greater causes — nurturing qualities like patience, courage, and selflessness. He highlighted that such virtues lay the groundwork for a nation’s advancement.
Touching on Pakistan’s current path of development, Shehbaz Sharif stressed the need to embrace unity and the spirit of sacrifice to overcome challenges. Recalling the national unity during recent tensions with India, he said it was a reminder that the people of Pakistan are always ready to make any sacrifice for their country’s defense and honor.
He encouraged citizens to understand their economic and social responsibilities and to combine efforts to build a strong, self-reliant nation.
“This Eid reminds us that real progress lies in working not just for personal gain but for collective national welfare,” he said.
The Prime Minister called on the nation to stand in unwavering support of the oppressed people of Palestine and IIOJK, promising that Pakistan would always be their voice on the international stage.
He concluded by urging the nation to pledge toward building a Pakistan filled with unity, compassion, and collective ambition. “Let us rise above individual interests and commit ourselves to national goals. It is only through such unity and selflessness that we can shape a bright future for our country,” he stated.
“I pray to Allah Almighty to bless us with the true joy of Eidul Azha and the strength to live by the spirit of sacrifice and sincerity,” the Prime Minister concluded.
