US invites Pak Field Marshal Asim Munir to Landmark Army Day Ceremony

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, is expected to visit Washington, D.C. to take part in the United States Army Day celebrations, according to local media reports. His visit is planned around June 12, just ahead of the official ceremony marking the 250th anniversary of the US Army on June 14.

While the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has yet to confirm the visit publicly, the general is anticipated to join other global military leaders at the historic commemoration, reflecting continued military cooperation and strategic ties between Pakistan and the US.

The US Army has organized a week-long series of events in Washington, D.C., including a new Revolutionary War exhibit, a performance titled Twilight Tattoo, a birthday run, and a joint celebration with the Washington Nationals baseball team.

The celebrations will conclude on June 14 with major events such as a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, a grand festival on the National Mall with demonstrations and VIP guests, a large Army parade featuring troops, military equipment, aerial flyovers, and a fireworks display alongside enlistment ceremonies.
