UAE Becomes World Leader as Ookla Releases Fastest Mobile Internet Ranking

According to a recent research issued by Ookla, a prominent internet speed testing firm, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has the best-performing mobile internet in the world, with an average download speed of 178.25 Mbps.

The study looked at the internet performance of various countries in the first quarter (Q1) of 2023. In the same category, the UAE is followed by Qatar, which ranks second with 174.56 Mbps, and Norway, which ranks third with 143.55 Mbps.

In the meantime, the UAE has the world’s second-fastest fixed broadband internet, with an average download speed of 221.87 Mbps. Singapore takes the top rank with a download speed of 235.40 Mbps, while China has the third-fastest broadband internet at 216.83 Mbps.

According to the survey, worldwide internet speeds have increased dramatically in the recent quarter due to increasing accessibility and advancements in communication infrastructure.

In terms of cities, Beijing (China) has a record-breaking internet speed of 264.92 Mbps and a latency of 9ms.

Another element pushing higher speeds internationally is the development in fiber-based connectivity. There is no doubt that more people are looking for faster and more reliable internet connections. The top five countries with the fastest mobile and fixed broadband internet are as follows:
