In the early hours of Thursday, users in various countries, including Pakistan, were unable to send or receive messages.
The outage detector DownDetector verifies that the instant messaging service is down for thousands of users across many countries, as users crowded Twitter to see if WhatsApp was down for everyone.

After a one-hour outage, the service of the instant texting app was eventually restored. Whatsapp’s parent company, Meta, issued an update, stating that ‘we are working fast to remedy connectivity issues with WhatsApp and we’ll inform you here as soon as possible.’
It validated the restoration over half an hour later. ‘And we’re back, happy chatting!’ wrote the message
Thousands of users reported the downdectector outage, while others flocked to Twitter to vent their agony.
Earlier this month, the Meta-owned platform experienced a similar outage that lasted around two hours. The app had already gone down in January.
Last October, Whatsapp experienced a large outage that lasted for hours, including in Pakistan.
