2 Million Worshippers Gather at Masjid al-Haram on 25th Night of Ramadan

Around two million worshippers gathered at Masjid al-Haram in Makkah on the 25th night of Ramadan. The holy mosque witnessed one of the largest prayer gatherings of the blessed month.

The 25th night of Ramadan holds deep spiritual importance for Muslims around the world. Many believers travel to Makkah during the last ten nights to perform prayers and seek blessings.

Authorities reported that the main prayer halls of Masjid al-Haram quickly filled with worshippers. The mosque’s courtyards, rooftop areas, and surrounding spaces were also crowded with pilgrims.

Large numbers of people continued to arrive throughout the evening. Many worshippers performed Taraweeh and Qiyam-ul-Lail prayers during the night. These prayers are commonly observed during the final nights of Ramadan.

Security officials and organizers implemented special arrangements to manage the large crowds. Additional staff and volunteers were deployed across Masjid al-Haram to ensure smooth movement of worshippers.

Authorities also increased transportation services and crowd control measures. These steps were taken to maintain safety and comfort for pilgrims attending prayers.

The Saudi authorities responsible for managing the Haramain said extensive planning was carried out in advance. Emergency services, medical teams, and security personnel were placed at key locations around Masjid al-Haram.

The mosque is considered the holiest site in Islam. Every year, millions of Muslims visit Makkah during Ramadan to perform Umrah and special prayers.

Meanwhile, large gatherings were also reported at Masjid al-Nabawi in Madinah. Millions of worshippers participated in prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque during the same night.

Officials said additional facilities were prepared to support the large number of visitors. Services included water distribution, guidance teams, and enhanced cleaning operations.

The final ten nights of Ramadan attract particularly large crowds. Many Muslims believe that Laylat al-Qadr, also known as the Night of Power, occurs during one of these nights.

Because of this belief, worshippers often spend the nights in prayer and reflection. Masjid al-Haram becomes a center of spiritual activity during this period.

Authorities continue to monitor crowd movement and maintain safety protocols. Officials say preparations will remain in place as more pilgrims are expected during the remaining nights of Ramadan.
