An elderly woman was sexually assaulted by a man at a Public hospital in India amidst ongoing protests over the rape and murder of a female doctor.
The incident occurred in Balapur district, Maharashtra, where a 25-year-old man assaulted a 65-year-old woman.

She had come from her village for medical treatment but stayed overnight at the hospital due to the late hour and the absence of doctors.
The attack happened around 2 a.m. while the woman was sleeping. When she screamed, bystanders intervened and detained the assailant.
The police have reported that the victim is receiving medical care and an investigation is underway. This case comes in the wake of a similar tragic incident where a female trainee doctor was sexually assaulted and murdered at RG Kar Hospital, sparking widespread protests across India.
