According to reports published by the Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA), Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was buried alongside four members of his family inside the shrine complex. Before the burial, funeral ceremonies were held in Tehran, Qom, Karbala, Najaf, and Mashhad. These events were attended by religious figures, family members, and supporters who gathered to pay their final respects.

Reports stated that Mostafa Khamenei, one of the late leader’s brothers, led the funeral prayer before the burial ceremony. His brothers Meysam Khamenei and Masoud Khamenei were also present during the final rites.

Iranian media also reported that the country’s current leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, did not attend any of the funeral ceremonies held in the different cities. No official explanation was provided regarding his absence from the events.

The burial of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei came four months after his death. According to the reports, he passed away on the first day of the military attacks launched by the United States and Israel against Iran. His death marked a major turning point in the country’s political and religious leadership.
