In Palghar, Maharashtra, a 14-year-old girl from Bangladesh was saved from a sex racket where she was allegedly subjected to three months of sexual assault by some 200 men.
On July 26, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit and non-governmental organizations carried out the rescue mission in Naigaon, Vasai.
The girl’s statements are presently being confirmed by authorities.
Two women who allegedly assisted her in entering India are among the ten people who have been taken into custody. The assault started when the girl was originally taken to Gujarat.
Abraham Mathai, president of the Harmony Foundation, claims that the girl ran away from home after failing a class and was unlawfully smuggled into India by a friend, who then coerced her into the sex trade.
