Boeing Lands Record $96 Billion Deal With Qatar Amid Trump Visit

Boeing has clinched the biggest aircraft order in its history, signing a staggering $96 billion agreement with Qatar Airways during President Donald Trump’s high-profile visit to Doha. The deal, described by the White House as a “historic commercial milestone,” was announced at a signing ceremony attended by Trump, Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg.

The landmark agreement covers 130 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 30 777-9 widebody aircraft, with options for 50 more jets. All planes will be manufactured in the United States and powered by GE Aerospace engines. Boeing’s Stephanie Pope called the deal a pivotal step in cementing the company’s long-term relationship with Qatar Airways.

Part of a broader $243 billion US-Qatar economic package, the deal comes at a critical time for Boeing, which has battled production issues and safety controversies in recent years. Just last year, a door plug incident on an Alaska Airlines 737 Max shook investor confidence, but the company appears to be regaining global trust.

This agreement also arrives as Boeing faces ongoing scrutiny — including Trump’s previous criticism over delays with the Air Force One programme. Now, as international orders pour in from the UK, Saudi Arabia, and potentially China, the Qatar deal is poised to become a cornerstone of Trump’s evolving trade legacy.
